Fifteen St Ives Cycling Club members took part in the 2012 Charity Spinathon on Saturday and kept four bikes going for the full 12 hour period.
The event was raising money for Cystic Fibrosis and Headway (the brain injury association) and in total 60 teams from the local area pedalled indoor spinning bikes through gruelling exercise classes from 8am to 8pm.

Two of St Ives Cycling Club’s top time trail riders contested the biggest event of the year on Sunday when they raced in the British Time Trial Championships
St Ives Cycling Club member Gary Stevens took on the ultimate time trialing challenge on Sunday when he finished ninth in the East District Cycling Association 100 mile time trial.
St Ives Cycling Club sent it's elite road race team to Wales to contest the Ras de Cymru, a gruelling 5 day stage race in the hills of Wales, and were rewarded with Paul Fielding's first place in the Veteran's category in a nail biting finale.
Four St Ives Cycling Club members travelled to the French Alps at the weekend to take on the enormous challenge of 'La Marmotte'. Based around the Alpine town of Bourg D'Osians the 176km route takes in many of the famous Tour De France mountain passes.
St Ives Cycling Club's achievements continue unabated this season with their highest profile result of the year to date. Malcolm Smith won the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists Road Race Championship in Henley upon Thames on Sunday with a 50 mile break away that out foxed the chasing bunch all the way to the finish.
Last weekend saw the second annual trip to the ECCA time trial Championships for 10 and 25 mile distances on 4th and 5th June. Run on consecutive days.
St Ives Cycling Club now at the top of the individual and team championships in the Eastern Road Race League after an impressive performance by the club's road race star, Jamie Caldwell.

St Ives Cycling Club hosted the latest round of the Eastern Road Race League championship at their Upton circuit on Sunday and were keen to defend their lead in the championship.
St Ives Cycling Club's mountain bike team had its biggest win of the year on Sunday at the Wiggle Enduro 6. Racing regulars Tracey Ibbett and Jackie Wren won the Female Pairs category, in the closely fought Staffordshire endurance race.
St Ives Cycling Club saw its course record smashed on Saturday when it promoted the first of its events for 2011. Despite being more at home racing against Tour de France champions on the continent, Sky Pro Cycling rider Alex Dowsett entered the local event and took advantage of the warm still conditions to reduce the course record by 20 seconds.
St Ives win another round of the hotly contested Eastern Road Race League on Sunday. This event was the Ken Wright Memorial near Colchester.

St Ives Cycling Club's run of success continued in the Northampton Cycle Racing Association handicap series. After winning the opening round at the beginning of the month the club has reinforced its strong showing in the third round with Stuart Lindsey taking the win on Saturday.
St Ives cyclists took to the roads on Sunday with the club's annual 100 mile Challenge Ride. At this time of year many members are training hard for their forthcoming racing season and the undulating 100 mile route tests riders fitness levels. Thirty six eager club members accepted the challenge and helped raise money for Road Peace, a charity which supports victims of all forms of road accidents.
St Ives Cycling Club members contested the final round of the Thetford Enduro Winter Series at Mayday Farm on Sunday. All of the team were competing in the two hour event on the 6 mile course, which although fast in places was also extremely boggy in some of the challenging technical sections.
The cycling time trial season got under way on Sunday morning with the aptly named Ely Hardriders 25 mile event. For some dedicated riders this is the beginning of a new season of racing, for others it is still the middle of winter and is more of a reminder to begin training in earnest.
